This rifle sling is constructed with durable American harness leather from the Hermann Oak Tannery in St. Louis, MO USA.  The leather is purely vegetable tanned using the same age-old process that dates back to the 1800s.  Built to withstand harsh outdoor conditions back when horses were the primary mode of transport and hauling.  This leather tannage has been time-tested to withstand extreme weather conditions, horse sweat, and to pull heavy loads under tension.

At the tannery, the leather is impregnated with oils, waxes, and tallow that penetrate to the hide's core. In addition, after the straps are cut, they're hand-finished in the Bushcrafts shop using a three-part process: adding more conditioning and beveling the edges to provide a secure and comfortable grip. This makes the perfect sling for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts. These slings are expertly crafted and designed for reliability in the field and guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Completing this ultimate extreme weather sling, they feature (2) all-leather handmade keepers and American-made Solid Cast Steel Sling Mil-Spec 1-piece swivels.

The Tan colored variation starts as a natural leather that darkens to a deep russet brown shade over time.  It quickly develops a natural patina and will age beautifully, showing its characteristic signs of use.

The Black leather is drum dyed at the tannery, enabling the black dye to strike through the hide's center for a uniform color, unlike some modern leathers that are spray painted.
